Instructor Launch β€” Starter Kit

You're certified. You're capable. You're not filling the room yet.

Here's the actual reason, and five real pieces of fixing it β€” free, no obligation.

It's not a marketing problem.

Most instructors read an empty class as a visibility problem β€” post more, run an ad, hope word gets around. It isn't. It's that nobody can say what makes your class different from the next instructor's, in one sentence β€” including you. A stranger can't say yes to something they can't picture. That's the actual gap. Not more visibility. A specific enough answer that someone says yes without a phone call first.

Five prompts. Copy each one into Claude or ChatGPT, in order. Each one asks you questions until it has a real, specific answer β€” not a template, yours.

01 A positioned business identity

Most instructors' answer to "what makes you different" is generic enough to describe every instructor in the state β€” which is the same as having no answer at all.

I teach [type of class] to [who you teach]. Help me find my real positioning. Ask me one question at a time, in this order, until you have a specific answer to each: (1) What's a specific frustration or fear my ideal student already has, in their own words, before they ever meet me β€” not a vague desire, the specific thing keeping them up at night. (2) What do most instructors, including me, assume is the problem here β€” the explanation that sounds right but isn't. (3) What's actually true instead β€” why hasn't my ideal student solved this yet? (4) Given all of that, what's the one real thing that separates me from the next instructor down the road β€” not a feature or a certification, the actual reason someone would choose me. When you have real answers to all four, give me one clear sentence: who my class is for, and why they'd choose me. Push back if my first answer is too generic to describe only me.

02 An ideal-student profile

Marketing built for "anyone who wants to learn to shoot" reaches no one β€” nobody recognizes themselves in a message written for everyone.

Help me build a real picture of my ideal student β€” not a demographic, an actual person. Ask me one question at a time: what specific fear or situation brought them to consider firearms training, what they've already tried or told themselves that hasn't worked, what almost stopped them from ever looking into this, and what would make them trust an instructor enough to show up. When you have specific answers β€” not generic ones like "safety-conscious adults" β€” write me a short profile of this one person, specific enough that I'd recognize them if they walked into my next class.

03 A first sellable class description

"I teach concealed carry classes" isn't something a stranger can say yes to.

I want to turn [a class you teach or want to teach] into something a stranger can say yes to without calling me first. Ask me: what specific outcome does someone leave with, what exactly happens during the class (format, length, what's covered), who is this specifically right for and who is it not right for, and what's the real price. Then write me one class description β€” specific enough that a stranger can picture exactly what they're getting, and different enough that it couldn't describe any other instructor's class in the state.

04 A Google Business Profile checklist

It's the one channel that's already free and already has real intent behind it β€” someone searching "concealed carry class near me" is closer to booking than anyone scrolling social media.

Give me a complete checklist for fully building out a Google Business Profile for a firearms instruction business β€” every field that exists, in the order I should fill them in, with a one-line reason each one matters to someone searching for a class near them, and what a strong example entry looks like. I want to go top to bottom and know nothing's left unfinished.

05 A starter FAQ / first-conversation guide

The conversation goes sideways before someone books because the same five questions come up every time, and most instructors are answering them cold, live, for the first time.

Ask me one at a time: what are the five questions I get asked most often by someone considering my class, before they've decided to book? For each one, help me write a short, confident, specific answer that addresses the real concern behind the question, not generic reassurance. When we're done, give me all five as a simple FAQ.
